Day 1: What is your fictotype? Are you a specific character, a nonhuman species, or both?

I am an OC from a fanfiction; my name is Terus and I am a Toa of Fire, from the LEGO Bionicle universe.

Day 2: Do you experience dysphoria? How so?

Not... not really, not in the traditional sense. Maybe it's because I'm a headmate though. The worst dysphoria I've ever experienced was from my source: I was mutated into a Toa Hordika and suffered from very bad dysphoria from the physical and mental changes of that transformation for a long time. It doesn't really bother me anymore, though.

Day 3: Who are you open about it with?

I'm openly myself in certain online spaces with people my host and system trust.

Day 4: Do you participate in the fandom of your source? How do you do so?

Kinda? Since I'm from a fanfiction, I... don't always see the canon version of my source as something I'm a fan of. But right now my host is rewriting stuff from my fanfiction source and I've been helping them with it, nyeheheheh.

Day 5: Do you fictionflicker?

Nope, just me.

Day 6: When did you realize you were fictionkin? How long have you been in the community?

I "woke up" or became sentient, however you want to phrase it, while my creator/host was talking about me with some friends. I also awakened with full knowledge of my life within my source, as well as being fully aware I am/was a fictional character. So, always. To both, I suppose. My host literally suspended their discussion to go make me a Discord PluralKit account and I started chatting with their friends immediately.

Day 7: What was your introduction to fictionkin?

I kind of have some meta knowledge I got from my host, so I basically woke up knowing about Fictionkin.

Day 8: Are you similar to your fictotype in personality? How so?

I am my fictotype, completely. I'm the definite original article, heeheeheeeee.

Day 9: Are you similar to your fictotype in appearance? How so?

I mean, I live in my host's body so irl no. But in headspace, yes. I look exactly like the MOC my creator made for me when I was still just an OC. They are planning on drawing me sometime and I'm curious to see if my headspace appearance will change. Maybe if I like it enough?

Day 10: Link to/tag your favorite fictionkin Tumblr.

No one in our system uses Tumblr. We literally made this blog on this site because our host doesn't like Tumblr.

Day 11: Have you ever met other fictionkin? In real life or online?

Oh yeah, a bunch. Online only though.

Day 12: Have you ever met canonmates? In real life or online? How did it go?

Well, sort of? Another member of our system is from the canon version of Bionicle, if that counts. I am from fanon so...

And we get along fine. I think he's a little... unnerved by me? But we just give each other space and respect each other.

Day 13: Have you ever met doubles? In real life or online? How well did you get along?

Does my source count? In my source I met another version of me from an alternate reality. We... avoided each other.

Day 14: What are shifts like?

I've never really had one. I don't really front, so I don't get to experience that. And while some members of the system can feel it when our host has a 'kin shift, I don't.

Day 15: How do you deal with kin-for-fun?

I see it as blatant cultural appropriation and disrespect for a community that already suffers under misunderstanding and willful ignorance and prejudice.

Day 16: What are your thoughts on symbols, flags, etc.?

Eeeehhh, it serves a purpose for some folks I suppose.

Day 17: Does fictionkinity connect to spirituality for you?

I mean, my spirituality comes from my source, so sort of?

Day 18: Does fictionkinity connect to neurodivergence for vou?

I'm not neurodivergent (at least in the sense it means here, I suppose my Hordika mutation could technically make me neurodivergent in another way. Long story, to be saved for another post someday.)

Day 19: Do other people notice your similarity to a character or species?

Since it's really just my host and our system who know about who I am as an OC, not really.

Day 20: How do you express your fictotype? Clothes, merch, cosplay, maybe even name?

I go by Terus online. So, that way.

Day 21: What's something about the fictionkind community that you wish was different?

I honestly don't know.

Day 22: What's something about the fictionkind community that you appreciate?

Just... not being alone, I guess. Knowing I'm valid, that being a fictional character doesn't change that I'm a real person.

Day 23: How do you approach consuming your source? Analytically, obsessivelv, casuallv. reluctantlv. etc...

Analytically, I suppose. I'm helping my host rewrite the story that is my source.

Day 24: What's the worst anti-fickin take you've ever seen?

I haven't been around long enough to see any first-hand.

Day 25: What's the best anti-fickin take you've ever seen? Respond to it.

😝 NYEH.

Day 26: What are some songs that remind you of your fictotype or source?

Um... I dunno... I like music as much as the next guy but I haven't found any that give me "Kinfeels" as of yet.

Day 27: What are some other characters/species that remind you of your fictotype?

Well, again, I haven't been around all that long, so I haven't met or seen any characters that remind me of myself enough to say.

Day 28: Do you have a favorite piece of fanart? (Better to reblog for this day, do not repost someone's art.)

Well, years ago my host commissioned some art of me and my partner together. I like it. It has watermarks...

Yes... our size difference really is that big. You see, we were originally from a roleplay. My creator remembered Toa being 7 feet tall on average and wanted to make me a bit bigger, so canonically I'm 8 feet tall. Their roleplay partner, who created my partner, remembered Toa being 6 feet tall and wanted her to be a little smaller, so they made her 5 feet tall. Us getting together was unplanned in the roleplay, it just happened. So here we are, me this huge dude and her this teensy lady...

Day 29: Do you have activities that connect you to your source? (Food, hobbies, interests, etc.)

Um, not... not really? I mean, I guess helping my host with the rewrite of my world counts, sorta.

Day 30: Talk about what it's like to be your fictotype.

Well, unfortunately not a whole lot of people know about Bionicle these days, and most of those who do aren't part of the Alterhuman/Plural community. So to a degree it's a little lonesome, not knowing anyone outside our system who knows who and what I am. But, it doesn't matter all that much in the end because I still get to interact with people, and some of them are interested in my source and want to know more about me.
